Hello hello!

Happy Monday! After a non-stop weekend of fun running around all over Northeast Ohio, its time to settle back into the swing of things of school work and projects! The weather was tough to keep up with this weekend. One second it is gorgeous and sunny, the next you can barely see 10 feet in front of you. It's maddness! So dressing for this weather can be a bit of a chore.

For Thursday I opted to go with a cozy and soft sweater dress for comfort and warmth. I was working all day, and it gets pretty chilly in the store, so keeping warm and staying comfortable is key. The nordic pattern seen on this sweater has been a huge trend this winter. Whether it be on a sweater, dress, leggings, socks, or even bags, these wintery motifs of snowflakes almost give a sense of nostalgia when wearing these cozy creations.

Sweater: American Eagle
Leggings: Aerie from AE

For Friday, I did a "Boy meets girl" look. This trend has been seen a lot with oversized blazers, boyfriend, jeans, basic tops, fedoras, and then adding a hint of girly flare. Here I paired, legitamite mens jeans with this amazing sparkle vest. I knew this look had a lot going on, but when you do just right, you can be done without looking over the top. By keeping neutral simple colors colors, I was able to achieve this look.

Pants: BKE Aiden Skinnies from Buckle
Tank: Tri-blend American Apparel razorback tank
Vest: Party sparkle vest from American Eagle
Shoes: Vans
Hat: Men's fedora from American Eagle
Glasses: DKNY

Saturday I wanted to mix things up with these floral high-waisted cigarette pants and paired it with a flowy off the shoulder top. Hippie-chic up-to-date! Don't be afraid to stir things up and try new things.

Top: Local Celebrity from Buckle
Pants: BDG high-waisted cigarette pants from Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Nine West American Vintage lace up boots

Sunday was my day of rest. Kept it simple with a fun tie-dye top and some bright blue jeans. I was feeling a little sick and sad, so I had to brighten things up somehow! When you're feeling down, don't dress express it. Dress to boost your mood. When you make an effort, or add something fun and bright, it brings your mood up!

Top: Hand-made tie dye t-shirt
Jeans: Blue American Eagle jeggings
Boots: Nine West American Vintage lace-up boots

Even though I hit on some trends this weekend, always remember: Don't follow trends, start trends.

Hello hello!

Living in small-town Ohio is comparable to watching paint dry. I keep my days busy with work, school, more work, and catching up on Dexter every now and then. I'm really missing the city and the fast-paced days I used to have there. Everyday I miss it a little more. But like I said I try to keep myself busy catching up on assignment and thinking about my future. I started applying to some more internships today, wish me luck.

Yesterday was just another long day at work with bad weather bearing down. The cons of working at an outdoor mall is no one wants to shop during a rainy day. So, I spent most of the day re-merchandising the store and vamping up our displays. Hey, I gotta keep busy somehow. Luckily, I love what I do! Getting dressed for is fun too, I get to step out of my usual comfort zone and mix things up, but of course there's always an essence of me in all my work attire.

Top: "Defend New Orleans" tank (acquired this top years ago in a little shop in the French Quarter, I wish I could remember the name!)
Vest: Leather vest from Express
Jeans: Miss Me Skinnies (Designed exclusively for Buckle)

Today I was Productive Patty getting all my fashion projects caught up and sending out my resume. I wanted to experiment with prints and textures today so I paired a leopard print maxi with a denim button. These are two big trends I've been seeing done separately, but together? Even better! I felt bold and confident, and it completely changed my attitude. I wanted to get more done and felt much more productive. I guess dressing for success really does affect you.

Top: Denim button-up from American Eagle
Skirt: Leopard maxi from Buffalo Exchange (second hand is the best!)

Time for some hot tea and Dexter

Fast-forward Through Winter

Hello hello beauts!

If we skipped winter completely and went straight to spring I'll be one happy camper. Winter is the least fun time for me to get dressed because it's just toooo cold to take risks, and living in the Ohio snow belt makes things even tougher! However, waking up today I saw all the snow melted and my phone told me it was 45 degrees! So lovely!! Now people won't look at me as funny when I wear my shorts with tights!

Top: Anheuser-Busch factory gift shop (St. Louis)
Shorts: High-waisted shorts from American Eagle
Tights: Black opaque from Target
Shoes: Matiko wedges from Urban Outfitters

Enjoy the weather!

In A New York Minute

Hey hey

New York is my city and it's where I belong! It was so great to be back in the city of lights. Loud music, dancing, crazy cab rides, and loads of pizza later. It makes me sad to be leaving so soon, but luckily I'll be back in no time!

I may have left the city but I definitely wasn't forgotten!

I totally slacked on my WIWT's while in New York. The city is sometimes just too crazy for me to keep up with myself even! So that was Friday night's outfit!

Top: Crop bra top from American Eagle
Blazer: Green tweed blazer Silence and Noise from Urban Outfitters
Skirt: PacSun
Tights: Forever 21
Shoes: Matiko wedge booties from Urban Outfitters

Saturday was absolutley perfect! Met some really great people at 123 Burgers Shots and Beers and then went to my ultimate underground playground, RdV. I simply go wild there! I was like a dancing hipster fairy throwing glitter everywhere!

Love my girls :)

Saturday night I was wearing a little bit of everything mixing patterns and colors with this fun eclectic little number.

Top: Vintage plaid flannel from Athens Underground
Dress: Silence and Noise black slash dress from Urban Outfitters
Tights: Payless Opaque tights
Shoes: Matiko Wedge booties from Urban Outfitters
Glasses: Tortise shell glasses from Aldo

Pennsylvania Forever

Hey hey!

On the way to New York City road tripping with my girls! Pennsylvania is the longest state ever but thank goodness it's so gorgeous out and picturesque!

Can't wait to be in my city!

I'll wait to post my WIWT later cause I'm just chilling in my sweats for this seven hour drive!

Oh The Weather Outside Is Frightful

Hey hey Eskimos!

So while everyone else was fighting this out of nowhere blizzard, I was keeping cozy inside getting ready for this weekend's coming events. Packing for New York and catching up on Dexter was the perfect way to spend this snowy Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately I did have to leave the room for road trip snacks and a meeting, but I guess I shouldn't complain. So here's what I wore today:

Top: Hollister plaid button up (men's)
Shorts: Tilt by PacSun
Tights: American Eagle
Shoes: Steve Madden boots

Back to Blogging

Hey hey!

So after a hiatus from the blogging world I decided to come back with a purpose. I had this blog for school but I want to continue it with new life. New year, new blog right?

For the past couple days I've been doing a "What I Wore Today" concept on my old Tumblr, but I've had that for years and years, and if I want to get anywhere I have to put some of the past behind me and start fresh and new!

So here's today's look:

To me, life is a disco! Be daring and have fun! Life is way too short for a boring outfit, so why settle for conventional leggings? It was a little chilly out so I threw on this comfy sweater to keep warm.

Sweater: Gabriel Brothers
Leggings: American Apparel
Shoes: Nine West American Vintage boots

(and in case your wondering, that little bag in the bottom picture is from American Eagle!)

Here are the looks I've done from the past week:

1/17: Bringing the sunshine on this rainy day with this boho inspired creation.

Top: DayTrip from Buckle
Jeans: American Eagle Hipster Flares
Necklace: RustBelt Americana vintage custom jewelry http://www.etsy.com/shop/RustbeltAmericana

1/16: Feeling a little Afrocentric with this tribal print top and color blocking. Happy MLK Day!

Top: DayTrip from Buckle
Jeans: Blue Jeggings from American Eagle
Headband: Forever21

1/15: I was in a bit of a rush this morning so I had to quickly put together something to wear. I choose I top with a big statement because even though I didn't have time to put together something funky, I still wanted to be noticed for something!

Top: BKE Boutique from Buckle
Jeans: Erin skinnies from Abercrombie and Fitch
Shoes: Mary Jane flats from American Eagle

1/14: Layer up! Be daring a pair a plaid flannel with animal print fur. Over a dress? You bet.

Top: Thrifted flannel from Athen's Underground (Athens, OH)
Vest: DayTrip from Buckle
Dress: Brandy Melville
Tights: Payless
Shoes: Nine West American Vintage boots

So that's it for now!
Remember, dress like there's no tomorrow so, make a statement today!
